NDIS Program
“Improved Health and Wellbeing” and “Improved Daily Living Skills”
Our Exercise Physiologists are Registered Providers with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Townsville and provide physical health and wellbeing services to people with a permanent disability, where that disability impacts on the management of daily activities. We have an experienced team of both male and female Exercise Physioloigsts who are passionate about helping people improve their quality of life.
Our air-conditioned clinic is wheel chair accessible and has equipment that can be altered to accommodate all conditions and aid in the development of motor control, isolated muscle strength, neuromuscular re-patterning and the development of strength and stability. Our large private medical gym is only open by appointment so we can maintain an environment which is comfortable, nondistracting and nonintimidating.
We also help people with hydrotherapy services which is water based therapy. Hydrotherapy has many benifits due to its non or partial weight bearing nature and freedom of movement. Many activities that may be to difficult to be performed on land can be performed in the water. Hydrotherapy sessions are mainly conducted at the Kokoda pool in Pimilco due it’s close proximity and access. It’s ramp is suitable for people in wheelchairs or people with reduced mobility. We do attend other public pools or home pools if this is more suitable for the Participant.
Working in conjunction with a Participant’s support coordinator, Health Studio will develop a comprehensive and
Our services can be accessed through funding within a Participant’s Plan under the Support Categories of “Improved Health and Wellbeing” and “Improved Daily Living Skills”.
To get started all the Parcipant will need to do is make an appointment to come in for a chat. At this FREE consultation we will determine whether we can help and whether there is funding in the correct support category of the Particpant’s plan. We also take this time to make sure the Participant is fully informed of the process, as we want them to be comfortable with out clinic prior to commencing an exercise program. It’s important for us that we make the transition to an exercise program smooth and not overwelming. We encourage the Participant to bring with them to this appointment their support coordinator or advocate. If there is sufficient funding and the Particpant is happy to get started we will then organise a time to do an Initial Assessment. We will liase with the participants support coordinator (if NDIA or Plan Managed) through out this process.
