NDIS - Health and Wellbeing Program
Our Exercise Physiologists are Registered Providers with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Townsville and provide physical health and well-being services to people with a permanent disability, where that disability impacts on the management of daily activities.
If you are under the age of 65, reside in Townsville or surrounds, have Australian residency and need support from a person or equipment to do everyday things for yourself because of an impairment or condition that is likely to be permanent - then you may be eligible for assistance under the NDIS.
Some disabilities that can benefit from exercise physiology services include, but are not limited to:
- Muscular dystrophy
- Cerebral palsy
- Brain injury
- Parkinson's disease
- Multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions
- Intellectual disability
- Down syndrome
Benefits of exercise physiology include improvements in:
- Quality of life
- Weight management
- Balance / coordination
- Cardiovascular fitness
- Postural control
- Mental health
Our air-conditioned clinic is wheel chair accessible and has equipment that can be altered to accommodate all conditions and aid in the development of motor control, isolated muscle strength, neuromuscular re-patterning and the development of strength and stability.
- pool or clinic based exercise
- a private, non-intimidating environment (we are open by appointment only)

- exercise solutions for children, adolescents and adults.
Working in conjunction with a nominated NDIA planner or service provider coordinator, Health Studio will prescribe a comprehensive and specialised exercise regime, tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
Our services can be accessed through funding within a Participant's Plan under the Support Category of Improved Health and Well-being (Plan amendments can be made to redirect funds into this category if not already existing).
We aim to enable each Participant to engage further with the community and to achieve their personal goals.
